Judith Ann Hanchey

Judith Ann "Judy" Hanchey, 85, of River Ridge, Louisiana, passed away on November 11, 2025. Born on March 10, 1940, in Oberlin, LA, she was the daughter of the late James Aswell and Wynonah Genius Hanchey. A 1958 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School, she earned her R.N. from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and later trained as a nurse anesthetist. Judy worked at Charity Hospital, in private practice, and later for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Louisiana.

She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and lifelong friendships. Survivors include sisters Penelope Bauer of Fort Collins, CO and Candace Meadors of Dadeville, AL; brother Stephen G. Hanchey of Bangkok, Thailand, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister Patricia Berry and brother James Randall Hanchey.
