Judith Kleba Obituary

Judith Marlene Kleba
Died: October 8, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Marlene Kleba, who left this world on October 8, 2025, after a lengthy battle against Alzheimer's disease. Judy was a longtime Cubs fan, loved her Starbucks tall black eye, was always ready to put on her boogie shoes, and never passed up a good deal. But what she delighted in most was the holiday season, when she decorated the house from top to bottom in red and green and made sure each Dickens' Village piece was placed just right. For many years, she gathered her friends for a cookie exchange (her rocky road fudge bars were legendary) then brought her family together for a home-cooked Christmas feast, mountains of gifts (all bought on sale, of course), and plenty of love and laughter.
Above all, Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished her loved ones. She is survived by her children (and grandchildren) Joe VanDinther (Mark), Yvonne Atwater (Tim, Alexis, Taylor, Dalton, and Peyton), Christine Woollard (Samantha and Jenna), and Heather Kerrigan (Maddie); her stepchildren Laura Downs, Steven Kleba, and Paula Trzynka; her sister Sharon Smith; her brother Doug Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Helen Smith, and her brothers Rick and Bob Smith.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be made in Judy's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America online at https://alzfdn.org/donate/. Checks can be made payable to "Alzheimer's Foundation of America" and mailed to 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
