Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Sep. 8, 2025.
Judith Ellen Kramer, affectionately known as Judy to her loved ones, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by her cats and watching Gunsmoke- just the way she wanted it.Though a sad event for those left behind, it is a comfort knowing she has finally been reunited with her loving husband James (Jimmy) Kramer, whom she has significantly missed these past 18 years.
Judy was born on October 11, 1947, in Baltimore, MD, the eldest daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Cedrone. Judy grew up in Baltimore, where she graduated from Eastern High School in 1965. She later attended Baltimore Business College, where she honed the skills that would serve her well as a dedicated secretary, first at Bethany Lutheran Church and later at the Legal Aid Bureau, from where she eventually retired. It was also in Baltimore where she met and eventually eloped with her beloved Jimmy in 1970, and where she later became a mother to her firstborn son Jason, in 1974. Two years later she moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and by 1978, now firmly in settled in
Salisbury, MD, she welcomed her second son, Jay.
Over the years Judy tried her hand at many hobbies including needlework, yarn crafts and card making. She loved to collect things from crystal knickknacks to cats-both real and ceramic. It was her cats who were her lifetime companions and favorite people and we know she was greeted by a joyous stampede of cats and a few special canines as they were reunited at the Rainbow Bridge. Her other pastimes included indulging in the thrill of scary movies and paranormal TV shows but it was the classic western series "Gunsmoke" that provided Judy with the most comfort-Marshall Matt and Festus were with her until the very end.
While Judy held many titles such as "wife", "Mom" and "big sister" her lasting legacy will be that of "Memom" to her ten grandchildren- Jesse Kramer, Ethan Kramer, Percy Moody, Skylar Kramer, Elijah Kramer, Anakin Kramer, Mikayla Kramer, Amelia Kramer, Arya Kramer, and Evelyn Kramer and her four great-grandchildren- Jeremy Ennis, Isla Kramer, Isaac Kramer, and Abigail Kramer, who all miss her dearly.
Judy's humor and sassy spirit will be missed not only by her sons and grandchildren but by her daughter in law, Jeanna Kramer, former daughter in laws, Christy Kramer and Angie Travers, her younger sisters Joanna Crawford, Janice McCrory, Jerri Cedrone, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and last but not least Nutmeg, Pumpkin, Kacee IV, and Corky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 13, 2025 at 2:00 pm with an hour prior visitation at Holloway Funeral Home 501 Snow Hill Rd.
Salisbury, Md 21804.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you remember Judy by donating to the Good Shepherd Cat Sanctuary and maybe adopt a cat or two. According to her, you can never have too many.
