Judith A. "Judy" Metiva, Saginaw, Michigan
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Stone Crest Assisted Living. Age 82 years. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Seman) Gomon, Judith was born October 9, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a member of the Catholic Faith. Judy enjoyed shopping, baking and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons and one daughter, Jeffrey and Julie Metiva, Midland; Scott and Amy Metiva, Freeland; Jill and Andy Schafer, Saginaw Twp.; ten grandchildren, Ashleigh Metiva, Nicholas and Megan Metiva, Debbie and Carter Westphal, Cassidy Wasalaski, Tyler Metiva, Jessica Metiva, Haleigh Metiva and her fiancé Garrett Letts, Drew Schafer, Brady Schafer, Carson Schafer; four great-grandchildren, Shayla, Leigha, Caiden, Hazel and an angel on the way; a sister, Cathleen and Wayne Schaeffer; a special aunt, Dorothy Weiss; many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Metiva and a sister, MaryEllen Garcia.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson St., Freeland, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Christian Tabares will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
