Judy Cobb, 80, of Evart, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on March 6, 1945, in Reed City, Michigan, to Harry and Jean (Dodge) Hilyard. She married Kenneth Babb on March 2, 1962, and together they built a loving family before Kenneth's passing in 1984. Judy later married Robert Cobb on April 20, 1985, and shared 25 beautiful years with him until his passing in 2010.
A lifelong resident of the Evart area, Judy was deeply dedicated to her community. She worked at the Pine Street bank in Evart for nearly 30 years, serving as head teller for many of those years, where she was repeatedly honored as People's Choice Teller of the year. After retiring, she continued to bless others by working part-time in the Evart School system in a variety of roles, sharing her love and compassion with every child she met.
Judy was a long-standing member of the Evart Women's Business Club, Crossroads Community Church, and supported the Evart Lions Club. She volunteered faithfully at numerous church and school food drives, embodying the spirit of service.
Above all, Judy's greatest treasure was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and never failed to show up with love, encouragement, and strength – even through life's many challenges. Her perseverance and character inspired all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jean Hilyard; husbands, Kenneth Babb and Robert Cobb; and her sister, Beverly (Hilyard) Bazaire.
Judy is survived by: her children, Thomas Babb of Evart, Sandra (Mark) Peters of Big Rapids, and Joseph Babb of Evart; five grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Samuel, Landon, and Emiley; three great-grandchildren Isabella, Kylin, and Olivia; uncle Joe (Sharon) Hilyard and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
No words can fully express the loss Judy's family feels. She will be held in their hearts until they are reunited in heaven through the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.'" – Isaiah 43: 1-3
"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope." – 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Joe Hilyard officiating. Family and friends are welcome to meet at the funeral home for visitation, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two hours prior to services, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Please consider giving a donation in Judy's name to the Evart Lions Club, Evart Promise Plus or Evart Business Woman's Club, to help fund their scholarship program. Condolences can be left on Judy's page online at
