Judy Ann McLean was born in Bunnlevel, North Carolina on February 28,1957 to the late Minnie Lee Smith-McLean of Hectors Creek, North Carolina and Roy Melvin McLean Sr. of Bunnlevel, North Carolina. Judy entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Alaris Health at St. Mary's in Orange, New Jersey.
Judy attended Central High School in Newark. She later continued her Education at Essex County College where she received her GED. Judy later got her certification in Childcare Administration at The North Ward Institute. Judy loved to throw parties with friends and family on any occasion. Judy was a mother to everyone, even folks she just met she showed them love. Judy loved to play her music and dance and let's not forget she loved to drink her beer.
Judy gave birth to her first born daughter Angela McLean in 1973. Then two years later she gave birth to her youngest daughter Lakira McLean. Judy continued in her faith in Christ while living in Newark where she was baptized at First Hopewell Baptist Church in Newark.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Minnie Lee and Roy McLean Sr., two brothers Roy McLean Jr. and Charles McLean, one sister Katie McLean, two nephews Tommie and Kenneth McLean, and her grandson Amir McLean. Judy leaves behind two daughters Angela and Lakira McLean, two sons-in-law Damien Bracey and Carlton Robinson, two sisters Esther McLean and Margaret Jackson, three brothers William Smith, Michael, and Norris McLean, three grandkids Kwashira Lawry, Jaquil McLean and Nadirah Lawry, six great grandkids Khalif, Najour, Zanaj, Kyrie, In'yuri and Kamari, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
