Judy L. "Wheeler" Moore

Judy L. (Wheeler) Moore, 80, of Girard, died at 6:50 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2026 at her residence in Girard.

Judy was born April 11, 1945 in Girard, a daughter of John and Thelma (Chrisman) Wheeler. She grew up in the Pittsburg and Chicopee areas, graduated from Southeast High School in Cherokee, and she attended Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg.

Judy married John William Moore on October 15, 1970 in Pittsburg and they divorced.

She worked as a CNA at the Medicalodge South in Pittsburg from 1980 until retiring in 2004 and she enjoyed horseback riding, skating, bowling, reading, and serving the Lord.

Judy was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Pittsburg before the church closed in 1970 and then she attended the Church of God of Prophecy and later the Lighthouse of Worship, both in Liberal, Missouri.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Ann Dieterle and her husband, Dennis, of Girard; her granddaughters, Beth Lowe of Wichita and Jessica Dieterle of Parsons; her great granddaughters, Anyssa Jade Lowe and Amery Joule Lowe; her brothers, John Wheeler of Alma and Tom Wheeler of Mulberry.

Judy was preceded in death and finally reunited with her parents, her sister, Beulah May Wheeler, and her loving dog, Bobbi Sue.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and inurnment will be in the Myers Cemetery South of Girard.
