John William Tersinar, 90, of Farlington, died at 8:50 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2026 in The Communities of the Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, Missouri.

John was born September 20, 1935 in Farlington, a son of John Tersinar, Jr. and Janet Stiteler.

He grew up in Farlington, graduated from Girard High School, and he attended Pittsburg State University for 2 years.

He married Donna D. Hayden on June 22, 1956 in Girard and Donna survives.

John served in the US Army from 1958 until receiving his honorable discharge in 1961.

He worked as the manager of the Coop Service Station in Girard for 33 years before retiring in 1997.

He was also a farmer and stockman, and he enjoyed his family, watching his grandchildren play sports, hunting, fishing, his cows, sitting on his porch, and educating future generations about farming.

He was a member of the rural water board for a number of years, he taught Hunter's Safety classes, and he was the last founding member of the Farlington Best Yet 4-H Club.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Donna, are his daughter, Debbie Tersinar of Joplin; his grandchildren, Rachel Drumeller, Steven Stroud, Drew Tersinar, Tanner Tersinar; his great-grandchildren, Ridge and Silas Drumeller, Paige and Boone Tersinar; his brother, Jerry Tersinar of Nixa, Missouri,

John was preceded in death by his parents, his son, John Allan Tersinar, on January 6, 2022, and his sister, Betty Waisner.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Tim Rudd officiating. Burial will be in the Farlington Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the George C.Brown American Legion Post # 26 of Girard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Crawford County Fairgrounds and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
