I attended the first Annual Memorial Service held at Laclede Groves by the LSS Hospice community on May 4, 2019 for loved ones who have passed. At the end of the service they released white Doves in honor of our loved ones. It was a very nice service.

My friend Julia was a delightful joy to be around. Julia and myself spent many hours enjoying coffee and just talking about her journey and memories throughout her life. Julia's stories about the numerous places she and husband Henry and Julie and Nancy had lived where a delight to hear. I was lucky enough to spend many Thanksgivings and Christmas dinners with Julia and Julie. Julia adored all holidays but her favorite was Christmas she loved her Christmas tree and all of her beautiful decorations. I can still almost smell the wonderful scent of her apple pies that she baked often. Julia loved anything sweet whether it be cookies, cakes or pies. Anything chocolate brought a smile lips and twinkle to her eyes. Julia talked often of her family and her grandchildren that she loved so dearly. I had the joy of spending many Summer barbecues with her and Julie. Julia always said that "I could write a book about my wonderful life" so now dear friend may your writing begin. I will miss you Julia and the times we spent together. Rest in peace dear friend. You will always be in my heart and soul.

Mom was the kindest person I ever had the pleasure to know. She had a way about her that just warmed your heart, she understood how important it was to help others. I watched her transition into her role as the person that needed some help and she was not very comfortable being that person, but she actually impacted others in such a positive way when she moved to Laclede Groves I think she found a new purpose. I loved spending time with her and we listened to music all the time. No matter what was going on, music always made Mom happy and she would sing along with me and I could get her to dance a little sometimes. She always had a smile for me when I saw her. She had the softest hands of anyone I ever knew, I loved holding her hand.
I am so fortunate to have had her in my life so long and I will carry her in my heart always.

If roses grow in Heaven Lord,
Then pick a bunch for me
Place them in my mothers arms
And tell her they are from me
Tell her that I love and miss her
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her head and
Hold her for a while.

We are so sorry for your loss. We adored Miss Julia and always enjoyed spending time with her. She had a warm, gentle, lovely spirit and will be greatly missed. She always reminded us that, People are people, and encouraged us to always help others, just as she tried to do until the very end. She was a bright light and a truly special lady.

Julia was sunshine. Always ready to sit down, have a cup of coffee, a cookie (or pie, her fav) and chat with you...find out how your job was going, how your family was doing. I've known her through Nancy for over 40 years and have always been amazed at the way she could light up a room. I've always pictured her dancing at the Chase...something she often talked about. I'll always remember her love of her children, grandchildren and grandbabies...they were her world! Thank you, Julia for all the sun you brought to us.

I have been blessed my whole life because you are my grandma. Not everyone gets the opportunity to love and be loved by such an amazing person. I hope that some day I can be even half of the person you were. You always loved me unconditionally and showed generosity to everyone and anyone who needed it.
I am sure are now in a place where you are dancing your heart out, putting giant bows on your head, laughing, eating every dessert you can image, drinking coffee and chewing gum!
I am so honored to be your grand daughter. You are greatly missed and always will be.
