Julia "Judy" Marie (Blair) Brown, age 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2025. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, granny, and friend.
Born in Louisville to the late James Blair and Lula Marie Blair, she was one of 12 siblings. She is preceded in death by her brothers Earl Blair, James "Buddy" Blair, Louis Blair, and Danny Lee Blair; and her sisters Mary "Sis" (Blair) Doss, Shirley (Blair) Peebles, and JoAnn (Blair) Higdon. She also joins in heaven her unborn grandchildren, loved from the very beginning.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James "Jimmy" Brown; her three children, Theresa (Dan), Michael (Freddie), and David (Carrie); her grandchildren, Matthew (Kelsey), Jessica (Cooper), Aidan, Camden, and Grayson; and her great-grandchildren, Audrey Marie and Savannah Jo. She is also survived by her sisters Norma Pridemore and Melva Blair, and her brothers David and Ronnie, along with nieces, nephews, and a whole bunch of other friends and family!
Judy graduated from Mercy High School, Class of 1962. After graduation, she went to nursing school, where she was voted Mrs. Congeniality.
Judy deeply loved her family, her faith, and her friends. She loved her "date" day with Dad every Thursday and spending time with many friends!
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching her great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th, from 3:00–7:00 PM at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home (Buechel). Visitation will continue on Friday, October 10th, from 10:00–11:00 AM at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, where she had been a member for more than 60 years, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul – St. Ignatius Martyr Conference. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Julia "Judy", please visit our floral store.
