Julia De Jesus

Julia de Jesus, 83, passed away on April 23, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Aguirre, Puerto Rico, to her parents, the late Natividad De Jesus and Elsa Maldonado. Julia moved to Penns Grove, New Jersey, in 1988, where she spent the last thirty-seven years of her life. She was a member of the St Gabriel R.C. Church in Carneys Point for many years, where she participated in readings at mass every Sunday. She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved gardening, and cooking. Julia loved life and everyone she encountered.
Julia was a proud mother of eleven children, grandmother of thirty-five grandchildren, and great-grandmother of eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Juan Medina Candelario. Julia is survived by her children Angel Luis Medina (Jose), Juan Medina (Elsa), Ricardo Medina, Osvaldo Medina, Gerardo Medina, Noemi Medina (deceased), Wilfredo Medina (Joyce), Rafael Medina, Antonio Medina, Doris Medina (Jose), and Marisol Medina.
A celebration of Julia's life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 369 Georgetown Rd, Carneys Point, NJ 08069. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, with the mass following at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Penns Grove. The family asks that donations be made in memory of Julia De Jesus to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, st.jude.org, where she faithfully donated for many years.
