Julia Anne Parent (nee: Shock), "Julie" passed away on February 13, 2025 at the age of 76 with her son by her side. Julie was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 21, 1948 and grew up in Grosse Pointe. She was a woman whose greatest joy was her family and her love for them knew no bounds.
Her love for children was matched only by her love for the beach, which provided countless cherished memories. Julie dedicated her life to her and her husband's beach business in Florida and to nurturing young minds as an assistant teacher at Assumption School.
Above all, Julie's greatest joy was the time spent with her beloved grandson, Jack. He is truly her sunshine.
Julie was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Parent. Dearest mother of Jason (Charlotte) and Grammy of Jack and Baby Boy (Due in August). She was the step-mother of Jennifer (Phil) Bartos and John (Kristen) and step-grandmother of Julian, and Jake.
Dear Sister of Margaret (Tom) Manardo, Howard (Cathy), Joe (Mary), Anne (Walt) Demchyna, Martha, Larry (Barb), Geralyn (Bo) Conlon, Phillip, Sally (Greg) Webb. Dear sister-in-law of Suzanne Shock, Tom O'Connell, Garry Begg, and Bob Suave. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Margaret (nee: Fresard) Shock, brother Nicholas Shock, and sisters Kathy O'Connell, Monica Begg, and Mary Suave.
Julie will lie instate on Wednesday, February 19th from 10am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church, 1401 Whittier Rd, Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan 48230 with burial immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Julie requested donations to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, University of Michigan Health
