COLTON - A Mass of Christian Burial for Julia W. Regan, 85, a resident of 47 West Higley Camp Road, Colton, will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Colton with Rev. Joseph Giroux presiding. Burial will be held in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Julie passed away Monday morning, June 16, 2025 at the North Country Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Massena after a brief stay. Julie is survived by her sister, Patricia Barbalich, Colton as well as her niece, Erin (Fred) Toomey and two nephews, Sean (Liza) Regan and Jeff Regan. She was pre-deceased by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Jim Regan.
Born at home in South Colton, NY on September 10, 1939 to the late John and Bessie Miles Regan, Julie graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School and worked for the NY Telephone Company before attending Albany Business College where she graduated with high honors. Julie worked as a confidential secretary at St. Lawrence University until her retirement in 2002, after 39 years of service where she made lifelong friends.
Julie was a quiet confidant, making her a treasured friend to so many. She was a kind soul who would do anything for those she loved, and she loved spending time with her family. Much of her life found her at the center of her family surrounded by and laughing with her nieces and nephews. She was a cherished aunt with a quick smile and a witty sense of humor. Her fierce, but quiet independent streak led her to many adventures. Julie loved traveling throughout the United States, Canada, England and Ireland with friends and family. She was always up for a road trip and loved to see and photograph the places she visited.
Julie was a devoted Catholic, attending mass at both St. Paul's and St. Patrick's Churches. In her free time she was an avid reader and library patron. She also was a member of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, the Colton Historical Society, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed attending events of the Colton, Dekalb and Canton Senior Citizens Organizations, of which she was a member. Memorial donations in Julie's memory can be made to the Colton Rescue Squad or to the Colton Hepburn Library and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com. The Buck Funeral Home in Colton is serving the family of Julia W. Regan.
