Julia A. Roberts

Julia Anastasia Roberts, 83, of Kennebunk, ME, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 18th, 2023.
She was born on September 27th, 1939, in Portland, Maine; the daughter of Mary Rose (Giobbi) Thompson and Matthew Budzko and stepdaughter of John Thompson.
Julia was a graduate of Portland High School and a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, as well as St. Anthony's Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunk.
She married James E. Roberts in 1961, who was in the US Army at the time.
Julia was a loving housewife and mother to two daughters, Lisa and Leslie.
She loved to cook, crochet, and needlepoint. She was a beautiful seamstress and always found a new craft to try or a new pattern to sew.
Julia was predeceased by her loving husband, her parents, and her brothers Richard, Matthew, and Dominic Budzko.
Surviving are her two daughters, Lisa (Roberts) Gagnon and her husband, Jim, Leslie (Roberts) Allen and her husband, Bobby, and a brother John Thompson Jr. and his wife, Arlene.
Julia had six grandchildren; Sarah, Alyssa, Amelia, Robert III, Rebecca, and James; thirteen great-grandchildren; Joseph, Christian, James, Robert IV, Charlotte, Isaac, Julia, Emily, Thomas, Damian, Sebastian, Bennett, Alexander, and one foster great-grandchild Josiah.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Franciscan Monastery, 28 Beach Ave. in Kennebunk, on Monday, March 27th, at 10 am.
A graveside service will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, 1461 Broadway South Portland.
There will be an open house reception following the graveside service at her daughter Lisa's house, address will be announced after Mrs. Roberts's graveside service.
The Hope Memorial Chapel is respectfully handling Mrs. Robert's arrangements.
