Mrs. Julia (Julie) Moore Slade, 67, of Statham, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
She will be missed by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Robert Slade; two sons, William Everette Slade, Sr. (Candice Boyett Slade) and Robert Alexander Slade (fiancé Nicole Dorman); grandchildren, William Everette Slade, Jr. and Sophie Elise Slade; siblings, Cathy Elliott (John Elliott) and James Everette Moore, Jr. (Kate Moore), as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents James Everette and Mary H. Moore.
Julie was born and raised in Jacksonville, Alabama to James and Mary Moore. She spent many years in Johns Creek, Georgia, before moving to the Athens area. They recently relocated to Pooler to be closer to family. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism, was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, but most importantly, where she met Tom - Go Dawgs ! Julie was a devout Catholic, and had a successful career in sales and as an entrepreneur with her interior design business. She enjoyed hosting parties for family and friends, and she was a great cook. Julie will be remembered for her infectious smile, her optimism about life, her listening ear, and for being a loving friend, wife, mother and grandmother.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Center at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
