Our beloved mother, Julia Vasquez, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 14, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. Julia was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Justo Martinez and Anita Rodriguez. Julia was a long-time resident of Van Horn alongside her husband Jesus Vasquez. She was a wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and great, great grandma that loved to cook for her family. Julia also loved to crochet and spend time with friends talking about life. Julia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband Jesus Vasquez, her daughters Terry, Linda, and her grandson Jesus Vasquez III.
Julia is survived by her three sons: Jesus (Yolanda) of Odessa, Carlos (Delia) of Odessa and Raul of Van Horn. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on August 20, 2024 at 12:00pm, officiated by Father Serjio Legarreta of Van Horn. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving were Richard Vasquez, Richard Rose, Lucas Melendez Jr., Junior Prieto, Jaime Gomez, and Freddy Vasquez.
Funeral arrangements were in care of Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn.
