Julian Segura was called to be with the Lord on February 11, 2025, at the age of 83 in the comfort of his home in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Julian was born in Poteet, Texas, to Martin Segura and Rosalia (Terrazas) Segura on February 18, 1941. No stranger to hard work, Julian was a soldier in the United States Army until 1968; he retired from Kelly Air Force base in San Antonio in 1998 after years of service. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus of El Carmen Catholic Church for nearly two decades and of the Guadalupano Society of Holy Name Catholic Church for over three decades. He enjoyed tending to his family ranch and cattle with his brothers, watching baseball with his grandsons, and loved grilling and cooking. Hispriorities in life were always his family and his faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosalinda Segura, his children Mary Denise Martinez (Arthur Martinez), Julian Segura (Stephanie Garcia Segura), and Melissa Segura(George Ramirez), and his brother, Salvador Segura. He was a proud Popo to his grandchildren: Stephanie Lopez, Lauren Hernandez, Philip Martinez, Marissa Martinez, Jacob Segura, and Christian Segura, and to his great-grandchildren: Mila Lopez, Marco Marinez, Gael Hernandez, Marisela Lopez, Ximena Hernandez, Katalina Martinez, and baby Martinez. He is further survived by countless nieces and nephews and friends. Julian is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Martin Segura and Rosalia (Terrazas) Segura, and his siblings, Raymond Segura, Paul Segura, and Leonor Guerra.
Visitation will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3814 Nash Blvd., San Antonio, Texas, 78223, on February 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at El Carmen Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the El Carmen Knights of Columbus or Holy Name Guadalupano Society in lieu of flowers.
