Juliana "Julie" Neininger, age 74, of Louisville, OH, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in her home. She was born February 17, 1949 in Maniago, Italy and immigrated to this country by boat in 1957, at the age of 8 with her mother and sister to meet up with her father in New York Harbor to become an American Citizen. Julie served 29 years as a teacher's aide for the Louisville City Schools. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Canton. She also volunteered with the Samaritan Table and St. Joseph Hospice.
Julie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frederic P. Neininger; her son, Stephen Neininger; her daughter, Erica (Steve) Muhleman; sister, Claudia (Lorin) Sommers; grandson, Carter Muhleman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgilio and Nelda Leschiutta.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Saturday (12/30) at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, 2207 3rd St SE, Canton, OH 44707 with Fr. Kevin Peters as celebrant. Calling hours will be 4-6pm Friday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.stierisraelfuneralhome.com
