Julie Ann Edmunds

Julie was born in 1951 and grew up on Chesney Road in Tacoma, Washington. She was the second of four children. Julie developed a love for animals at a young age. She grew up in a family that always had a dog or two, but her dad usually had a cow in the pasture at their home. She carried her love for animals into her adult life. Julie had a love for Irish Setters and Welsh Springer Spaniels. During the 1980s and 1990s she completed in dog shows with her Irish Setters and Welsh Springer Spaniels. In 1988 she earned Best of Winners with one of her beloved Spaniels.
Julie was a creative person as well. After graduating from Franklin Pierce High School in 1969 she went on to earn her AA and then transferred to Washington State University. In 1976 Julie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on interior design.
After returning home from college Julie settled in Puyallup, Washington, where she lived until her recent passing. Throughout Julie's life she worked at Hygrades and Fred Meyers. However, the last 25 years she worked for the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Medical System. She was a team member of their environmental services department.
Julie loved television shows, movies, playing cards, and attending family events. Julie was preceded in death by her dad David (Rhys) Edmunds and Peggy Edmunds. Julie is survived by her brothers Michael (Sharon) Edmunds, Stephen (Pauline) Edmunds, and her sister Tammi Edmunds. She has 6 nieces, 8 great nieces, and 5 great nephews. Julie enjoyed watching her nieces grow and create their own families. Julie would often get a laugh out of the funny things the younger kids did as babies.
The family would love to thank her teammates at St. Joseph for taking the time to show their compassion and concern and completing the wellness check for her safety.
In Lieu of service, the family asks a donation is made to the Humane Society.
