Julie Roth, 69, died on June 5, 2025 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Born on May 3, 1956, in Rochester, MN, Julie was a vibrant spirit who brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. She was welcomed into this world by her loving parents, Stanley and Evelyn (Ask) Millen, and was the cherished sister of nine siblings. Growing up in rural Rochester, Julie embraced family life, a theme that would continue throughout her journey.
As a teenager, she moved to St. Charles, where she blossomed into the creative woman we all admired. A proud graduate of St. Charles High School in 1974, Julie embarked on an incredible adventure when she married August Roth on March 22, 1980. Together, they created a bustling household filled with love and laughter, raising 12 remarkable children who continue to carry on her legacy.
Julie was a true lover of life; she found joy in gardening, filling her home with colorful flowers, and finding hidden treasures at garage sales. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a flair for the festive, particularly during the holiday season when her elaborate Christmas decorations would light up the family gatherings. An avid thrifter and a baking enthusiast, Julie could transform 'one man's trash into another man's treasure' with her creative touch. Whether it was making a batch of cookies or playing a raucous game of Cards Against Humanity, her ability to adapt and create something beautiful was unparalleled.
Passionate and bold, Julie had a love for bright colors and flashy jewelry that mirrored her vibrant personality. She believed that her greatest achievement was being a mother and grandmother, and this love for her family knew no bounds.
Julie is survived by her life partner, August Roth; children, Kara Roth, Jesse (Jen Gosha) Roth, Andrew (Jess Schwartz) Roth, Josh Roth, Kelsey (Jerrod) Montoya, Kristan Roth, Phillip Roth, Benjamin (Ashley) Roth, Kacey Roth (Jeremy Miller), Christopher (Elsa) Roth, Josiah Roth, Anthony Roth; 23 grandchildren; siblings Mitch Millen, Colleen Millen, Bridgette Kampa, Rebecca Raatz (Jim), Todd (Darlene) Millen, Matt (Heather) Millen, Andy Millen; and Brother-in-law, Greg Peterson.
