Julio Cesar Ruiz, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on March 4th, 2025 in Murray, Utah. He was born on May 4th, 1961 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Moises and Soledad Ruiz.
Known to all as Cesar, he loved being around his family. Cesar enjoyed having his grandchildren around and loved spending time with the whole family. He also loved dancing, cooking and hanging out with his friends. Cesar was a hard worker, and he would often use his love of cooking to earn extra money by cooking and selling various pastries. You would also often find him on his days off at the Swap Meet where he would sell various goods. He loved music. So much so that it would eventually lead to him joining a band playing percussion. He travelled with the band across the country and was in his element.
Cesar was married to Julia Mendoza in Salt Lake City and had a son, Julio Cesar Jr. and stepdaughter, Rita. Eventually they divorced but kept a close and friendly relationship. During one of his music tours, he met and fell in love with Irene Dianda of Garden City, Kansas. He would move to Garden City where he settled down with Irene and her two daughters, Alicia and Kayla. They would go on to have a son, Mario Humberto. Sadly, Irene passed away in 2000. Cesar stayed in Garden City, Kansas until 2005 when he moved back to Salt Lake City.
Cesar is survived by his sons, Julio Cesar Ruiz Jr. and Mario Humberto Ruiz, Stepdaughters, Rita Jones, Alicia Smith and Kayla Sanchez, his grandchildren Julio Cesar Ruiz III, Jullian Ignacio Ruiz and Jemma Isabella Ruiz, Antonio Garcia and Kyliegh Gonzalez. Siblings Luz, Magda, Martha, Moises, Raul, Victor, Ruben and Mario. He also had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Moises and Soledad Ruiz, his brother Tony Ruiz, niece Alicia Ruiz and his wife Irene Dianda.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 12th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (257 N. 700 W., Salt Lake City) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 13th also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 11:00 a.m.
His ashes will be interred on Saturday, March 15th at Mt. Calvary Cemetery (275 U Street, Salt Lake City) at 12 p.m. (noon).

Julio Cesar Ruiz, amado padre, abuelo, hermano y tío falleció el 4 de marzo de 2025 en Murray, Utah. Nació el 4 de mayo de 1961 en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México. Hijo de Moisés y Soledad Ruiz.
Conocido por todos como César, le encantaba estar con su familia. Disfrutaba de tener a sus nietos cerca y le encantaba pasar tiempo con toda la familia. También le encantaba bailar, cocinar y salir con sus amigos. César era un gran trabajador y solía usar su amor por la cocina para ganar dinero extra cocinando y vendiendo varios pasteles. También lo podías encontrar en sus días libres en el Swap Meet donde vendía varios productos. Amaba la música, tanto que eventualmente lo llevaría a unirse a una banda tocando percusión. Viajó con la banda por todo el país y estaba en su elemento.
César se caso con Julia Mendoza en Salt Lake City y tuvo un hijo, Julio Cesar Jr. y una hijastra, Rita. Finalmente se divorciaron, pero mantuvieron una relación cercana y amistosa. Durante una de sus giras musicales, conoció y se enamoró de Irene Dianda de Garden City, Kansas. Se mudó a Garden City, donde se estableció con Irene y sus dos hijas, Alicia y Kayla. Tuvieron un hijo, Mario Humberto. Lamentablemente, Irene falleció en 2000. César se quedó en Garden City, Kansas hasta 2005, cuando regresó a Salt Lake City.
A César le sobreviven sus hijos, Julio César Ruiz Jr. y Mario Humberto Ruiz, sus hijastras, Rita Jones, Alicia Smith y Kayla Sánchez. Sus nietos Julio César Ruiz III, Jullian Ignacio Ruiz y Jemma Isabella Ruiz, Antonio García y Kyliegh González. Sus hermanas y hermanos Luz, Magda, Martha, Moisés, Raúl, Víctor, Rubén y Mario. También tuvo muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, sobrinos-nietos y sobrinas-nietas y sobrinos-bisnietos.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Moisés y Soledad Ruiz, su hermano Tony Ruiz, su sobrina Alicia Ruiz y su esposa Irene Dianda.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el miércoles 12 de marzo en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (257 N. 700 W., Salt Lake City) de 6:00 p.m. a 7:30 p.m.
Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre el jueves 13 de marzo a las 11:00 a.m. también en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
Sus cenizas serán enterradas el sábado 15 de marzo en el cementerio Mt. Calvary (275 U Street, Salt Lake City) a las 12 p.m. (mediodía).
