June Albritton
June Albritton, a 50-year resident of Duxbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefullyon September 22nd, 2025.
June was born on September 30, 1941, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Evelyn and William Ellington. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and moved across the country with her husband, Bill, spending time in Newport, Rhode Island, Southern California, and the Midwest before settling in Duxbury.
June served as an Assessor for the Town of Duxbury for 30 years. In addition, she worked as a Realtor, prepared taxes for H&R Block, and wrote articles and took commercial photographs for Community News Corporation's real estate publication, Boston Homes. June had an interest in genealogy, which led her to join the Society of Mayflower Descendants and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her true passion was for horticulture. She was an active member of the Community Garden Club of Duxbury and the Junior League of Boston Garden Club; she was a repeat judge of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's New England Flower Show; she earned a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture from Harvard Extension School; and for many years she served on the altar guild of St. John the Evangelist, Duxbury.
June will be missed by her husband, William Hoyle Albritton, her children, Elizabeth Anne Albritton of Boston and William Hoyle Albritton Jr. of Northampton, and her sister, Anne Ellington of New York City.
