June Ryder Gilbert, age 78, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at her home. She was born January 4, 1947 to Jacob and Ora Belle Ryder.
She dedicated numerous years to working as a teacher in the Pickens County School System.
June is survived by her son, Bill Gilbert of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Osborne of Jasper; grandchildren, Abigail Gerrard, Ben Gilbert, and Bradley Gilbert, all of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Ryder of Marble Hill; nephews and nieces, Doug and Shelly Ryder of Marble Hill, Jaime Ryder of Marble Hill, Esther Ryder of New Jersey, Kenny Ryder of New Jersey, Thomas Ryder of New Jersey, and Duane Ryder of Marble Hill. Other family members also survive.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Ora Belle Ryder; and brothers, Terry Ryder, Wayne Ryder, and Jerry Ryder.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 p.m., Thursday December 11, 2025 from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
June's legacy was to take care of the birds; conserving the avian species and their habitats. In June's memory, the family requests in lieu of flowers, please send plants, bird houses, bird feeders, and bird seed to keep the spirit alive.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
