Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025.
Born to John David (J.D.) and Margaret Tarpley on May 22, 1940 in Atlanta, Ga. She graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, Ga. Class of 1958. She was married to the love of her life, Neal Goolsby for 26 years. She enjoyed reading, traveling, watching movies with her husband and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to dinner with their Friday night friends. She will long be remembered for her kindness, love, compassion and her appreciation of a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father John David (J.D.) Tarpley, her mother Margaret Murner and her brother Tony Murner as well as her grandson Lee Ferguson. She is survived by her husband Neal Goolsby, sons Robert (Bud) Houston Ferguson (Dana), Shane Houston Ferguson (Kellie), Matt Goolsby (Paula), daughters Stacey Lewis-Osborne (Rick), Shayla Eley (Jimmy), and Lisa Goolsby Smith (Bernie), and her sister in-law Emily Goolsby. She has 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She will be missed by all. Memorial services will be held at Carmichael Funeral Home 2950 King Street Smyrna, Ga. 30080 The service will be officiated by Reverend Brazell on Sunday, November 16th, 2025 at 3pm. A reception will follow on premises for family and friends.
