June Heard

Mrs. June Wills Heard, 95, of LaGrange, passed away on June 20, 2023. Mrs. Heard was born on June 20, 1928 in Talladega County, Alabama to the late Edward Alexander Wills and Bertha Martin Mills. She has lived in LaGrange for her entire life. Mrs. Heard worked for Callaway Mills and Milliken and Company for over 42 years and retired from Carpet Service Center as Plant Secretary. She was a member of the West Georgia Medical Center Auxiliary as a volunteer for over 23 years and was volunteer of the year in 2005 along with her husband. She was a member of the Merry Makers, Young at Heart Club and a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and attended East LaGrange Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Handley Heard.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores June Heard Watson, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand with interment to follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
