June Arlene (Morgan) Hoskinson passed away the morning of August 29, 2025 in Anacortes, Washington.

Born July 17, 1938, in Burlington, Washington, to Opal and Vernon Morgan, June was the youngest of three. She had fond memories of her childhood in a house on Dukes Hill in Sedro-Woolley and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. June knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse and started at Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing following high school. Prior to graduating nursing school, June met Russel Hoskinson. They enjoyed telling the tale that she thought, "I'm going to marry him" the first time she saw him – and a few weeks later, she did.

The year following her graduation from nursing school, their first son Kirby was born. Six years later came son Robby, then daughters Marty and Holly at which point they agreed enough was enough. In the early 70s, the family settled into a house in Sedro-Woolley.

Through her nursing career, June worked in psychiatric care (Western State Hospital, Northern State Hospital), long term care (Burton Nursing Home), and acute care (United General Hospital, Island Hospital). She retired in 2002 after 20 years at Island Hospital.

Being a nurse was at the core of June's personality. With a gleam in her eye she would tell of her mother saying, "I don't know why the other kids want to play with you, you're so bossy." June would later shape that attitude into leadership skills that proved valuable as a charge nurse. She was known for taking new nurses under her wing and guiding them to develop their skills. She also put her nursing abilities to use outside work, helping to care for elderly friends and family members over the years.

June was fond of many types of music and musicals – both movies and musical theatre. She enjoyed attending live performances with friends and family. In 1999, June married Scott Hoskinson. They relished traveling and playing board games together.

June is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Don, Bonita; husbands Russel and Scott; daughter, Marty; daughter-in-law, Melody.

June is survived by Kirby and his wife Vicky (children Wade and Lane), Robby (children Arthur, Russel, Robby, and Leilisa), Holly (children Khali, Jacob, and Adam), Marty's children (Branden and Joshua), as well as the partners of her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A gathering will be held to memorialize June's life on September 27, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in June's memory to the Island Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.
