June 'Junie' Nielsen Obituary June 'Junie' Nielsen (Lien)
June "Junie" Nielsen, age 85, of Plymouth, MN (formerly of Gonvick, MN), passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, after a life lived with grace while facing dementia and complications from a stroke and renal failure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Clara Lien; brother, Rodney; sister, Maxine; and beloved son, Mitch (1989). Also all the kitties she loved so dearly throughout her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 67 years, Les Nielsen; son, Randy Brian; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished lifelong friends from the neighborhood, church, and community.
June and Les moved to Minneapolis in 1958, where she began working at Sears Headquarters on Lake Street. In 1963, they bought their family home in Plymouth, where she lived for more than 60 years until her stroke in June 2025. Junie worked at Herc-U-Lift and gave countless hours as a church volunteer, delivering Meals on Wheels and helping those in need. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the many lives she touched.
Services for June will include a visitation on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4:007:30 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata, MN. Funeral service on Thursday, September 18, 2025 11:30 AM, at Vision of Glory Lutheran Church, 13200 Hwy 55, Plymouth, MN, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A lunch will follow after the service. After lunch a graveside service will be at Parkers Lake Cemetery, Plymouth, MN. All are welcome to celebrate Junie's life, and attend the interment.
