Justin Carroll Anderson, a vibrant son, dedicated friend, and gifted athlete, passed away on July 15, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was born on March 6, 2001, in Asheville, North Carolina. Justin’s bright spirit and warm personality endeared him to all who knew him.
Justin graduated from Ardrey Kell High School in 2019, where he made a significant mark as a member of the varsity football team. His athletic prowess was further exemplified when he was selected to play on the USA Rugby South team in 2018, a proud accomplishment that showcased his dedication and skill.
Beyond academics and sports, Justin was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and intelligence. He had a deep love for his family and friends, always finding ways to bring joy and laughter into their lives. He cherished his time spent fishing, gaming, and learning about cars. Justin held a special fondness for music, with favorites ranging from Johnny Cash and 60's classics to contemporary rap. His love for animals and cooking highlighted his nurturing spirit.
Justin enjoyed visiting his grandparents in Florida, and he found great happiness at the beach and in the mountains. The adventures and memories made during these visits brought him immense joy, further enriching his life.
Justin leaves behind his devoted mother, Andrea Torchia Anderson, who loved him deeply. He is also survived by his cherished grandparents, Jerry and Mary Lynn Torchia, along with his aunts and uncles, Michelle and George Fitzsimmons, and Elizabeth and Jim Babor. His cousins, Emily Pollock, Dylan Pollock, Ella Pollock, Anna Fitzsimmons, and Matthew Babor, will forever hold onto the memories they created together.
Though his time with us was far too short, Justin’s legacy of love, laughter, and passion for life will endure in the hearts of those he touched. He will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, 2:00 PM, at Raymer-Kepner of Huntersville. A reception will follow the service at the home of Michelle and George Fitzsimmons.
