Justin passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2021. Justin was born on June 5, 1992 in Ogden Utah to John L. (Julie) Nelson and Lori Ann Nelson.

Justin was a very quiet and shy person but still managed to find friends easily. He especially gravitated to people that were much older than he was; he had an "old soul".

He was an avid fisherman and a very talented fly tier. Then several years ago he gave that hobby up when he became vegan. He was extremely careful about what he ate as to not exploit any living thing.

He loved the outdoors and always liked to take people hiking and camping that had never been before. He cooked for himself every day and liked to try new recipes. He made his own bread and pastas from scratch.

He was very involved in restoring old bicycles and had finished several for friends. He also loved music and could play the piano and the guitar. He had a few piano lessons but none for the guitar and was really an amazing guitar player. He was in the process of rebuilding an old Fender guitar. His close friend Tyler Maez is going to finish it for him. He was a very talented artist and loved to draw and watercolor.

Justin is survived by his parents, his fraternal grandparents, his nephews Kylan Benik and Devin Benik, his niece Emberlee Benik and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his brother Andrew Benik. Justin is now in the presence of his beloved brother Andrew.

Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Please refer to his obituary webpage for upcoming details.

Justin was a very gentle and easy going person. He was one of the kinder and gentler people in the world. He was smart and caring and has left too soon. Hopefully now he has his own space to grow and flourish uninhibited as he more than deserves it. Blessed be.

Love,

Your cousin Elie

Justin was the sweetest little boy and grew into the nicest young man. His passing came as a great shock to me. He always went out of his way to be nice and respectful of others. Hopefully now he can be free to be. He will be missed. Blessed be.

Love,

Aunt Leisa
