Kandy Kay Lusk
June 22, 1964 – August 11, 2025
Kandy Kay Lusk, 61, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Columbia, Missouri.
Born June 22, 1964, to Luther Burks and Marilyn "Suzie" Turner Burks, Kandy spent her life in Columbia and the surrounding areas. She graduated from Metro Business College in 1992 and went on to earn her Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College.
Kandy had a strong work ethic and an even stronger heart. Over the years, she worked in many roles, from store clerk to caregiver at ACT and local nursing homes. Her love for people was matched only by her love for animals-whether it was caring for a pet or spoiling her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Kandy is survived by her siblings, Randy Burks of Columbia, Sandy Crane (Danny) of Columbia, and Justin Burks of Columbia; her stepdaughters, Jessica Hickernell, China Lusk, and Erika Lusk; her many beloved nieces and nephews, Julie Wundrack (Billy), Seth Maxwell (Natalie), Robert Mitchell (Hayley), Collin Crane (Anna), Cherokee Cunningham (Trevor), Michelle Wilson (Mary), Ray Wilson, Brendam Lam, Dakota Burks, Kathryn Burks, Elizabeth Burks, Jesse Burks, and Caine Burks; 14 great-nieces and nephews; and six grandchildren.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Luther and Suzie Burks along with several beloved pets.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at Parker-Millard Funeral Home, 12 E Ash St, Columbia, Missouri.
