Karen Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc. on Oct. 22, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

On Friday, October 17, 2025, Karen Green Andrews departed this life peacefully at home. Born June 23, 1955, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Arlene Burns Green.
Karen was preceded in death by her sisters, Joanne Green Wells and Delores Marshall; brother, Earl Green; and beloved cousins, Patricia and Laura Green.
She was a 1973 graduate of McKeesport Area High School. Karen attended Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
Karen was a dedicated employee of UPMC McKeesport Hospital for 39 years, where she held many roles-and made even more friends she considered family. Her passion was Human Resources, where she devoted many long days and nights. She briefly retired in 2012 before embarking on a new career with PNC Bank in their Customer Relations Department, where she remained employed.
Karen loved to travel, especially cruising around the world with her closest sister-friends, the "Traveling Divas": Robin Marshall Kelly, Kim Crane, Anica Jones, and Patricia Grayson, who were also members of The Essence Club.
An avid sports fan, Karen loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, but nothing brought her more joy than cheering for her sons and grandchildren on any field. She was always the loudest one in the stands-cheering, coaching, and supporting them in every aspect of life.
Karen is survived by her sons, Vernon T. Andrews (Shawntaye) of McKeesport and E.J. Andrews (Angel) of White Oak; brother, Alvin J. Green of McKeesport; sister-in-law, Kathy Green of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Ronnie Johnson (Rebecca), Arianna Andrews, Demere Johnson, Zevian Andrews, Vernon Andrews, Ariana McCarthy, Tijour Andrews, Kahreke Andrews, Evan Andrews, Giana Andrews, and Peyton Andrews; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many dear friends
