Donna Jean (Madak) Konik, 78, of White Oak, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 9, 1947 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Virginia (Bartko) Madak. Donna was a 1965 graduate of McKeesport Area High School. She worked as an inventory clerk at US Steel Edgar Thompson Works from 1965-1972 and also worked at Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak for 25 years as the office manager and treasurer. She was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for 8 years and served on the Church Council. A member of Priscilla Circle, a woman's ministry that focuses on supporting women in ministry and fostering community, Donna was a lesson leader for the organization. Beginning in 1985, Donna was a treasurer of Faith Women of the ECLA. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Donna loved to travel and go to the beach, especially Ocean City, Maryland and Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. She loved spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren. Donna warmed every room she entered, and friends and family- especially her grandchildren- gravitated to her. Donna was as kind as she was gracious, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, John J. Konik; daughters, Susan (Adam) Morrow, and Julie (David) Dansak; grandchildren, Mark and Bella Morrow, and Katherine, Emily, Anna, and Grace Dansak; sisters-law, Joan Whitney and Teddi Madak; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip S. and James R. Madak; half-brothers, Robert and Russell Madak, and her sister-in-law, Rose (Konik) Morgan. Friends are welcome on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 -8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 10:00 am at The Faith Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Wendy Farone, officiating. Burial will follow at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
