Nathaniel Anderson, affectionately known to many as "Bumpo" went on to be with the Lord on October 8, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA at the age of 78. Nathaniel Anderson was born on June 2, 1947, in Sumter, SC, to James Anderson and Viola Kelly Walker and was raised by his mother and stepfather Robert Walker with his 5 siblings in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Nathaniel attended McKeesport Area High School and was a stand-out student and basketball player. He left school early and joined the Navy serving for 2 years from 1965-1967. He later obtained his High School Diploma from the Department of Education in 1986 and continued to train and study to serve as a Certified Nursing Assistant where he worked in various nursing homes. He was known for his kindness and loved helping the elderly receiving honors and awards for his work. Nathaniel was best known for his amazing sense of humor. He could fill a room with laughter for hours. You couldn't help but to smile when you were in his presence. He loved his family, he loved to dance, and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. He and his late wife Delores were married in 1990.
Nathaniel is preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Leggett) Anderson, parents, James Anderson - father, Robert Walker - step father, Viola Walker - mother, Laura Walker - sister, and Rev. Robert W. James Anderson - brother.
Nathaniel is survived by two sons, Esau Bray, Lamont Bray; grandchildren, Dayonna, Ava, Shon and Lamont Jr.; sister, Barbara (Wendell) Sutton-El; brothers, Frank (Annie) Anderson, Robert (Tonie) Walker Jr.; Brothers in law June Leggett, Eric (Lois) Leggett, Dickie Leggett; Sisters in-law, Mary and Martha Leggett, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
