Karen I. Melnick

Karen I. (Ingellis) Melnick, 73, wife of Paul Melnick, of Bristol, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Bristol Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Angelo V. Ingellis.
Karen grew up in Bristol and attended schools in the Bristol school system. She went on to marry the love of her life, Paul, on May 13, 1972. Karen worked as a secretary for Melnick Metal Company for many years, contributing her skills to the family business.
In her spare time, Karen enjoyed cooking and listening to music, going to concerts, cross-country adventures, and movies. She was often seen in her vintage Jaguar, affectionately known as "Old Blue." Karen also loved tending to her gardens and flower beds, visiting casinos, and sharing dinners with friends. Known to all as the "Gift Queen" for birthdays and Christmas, she brought joy to many with her thoughtful presents. Karen had a passion for sports cars and motor racing and was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins.
Karen is survived by her mother, Georgette Ingellis, devoted husband, Paul Melnick; her loving sons, Peter Melnick and Robert Melnick; and her cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Zoe Melnick. She also leaves behind her three brothers, David Ingellis, Marc Ingellis and his wife Jody, and John Ingellis and his wife Suzanne.
Friends and family can call on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue, Bristol, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, 2025, starting at Funk Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. prior to St. Gregory Church at 11:30 a.m. Karen will be lovingly laid to rest privately.
