Karen Cleland Phillippi, 84, of Ridgeland, SC, surrounded by her family, departed this life for a glorious homecoming with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
Karen was born on November 27, 1939 to the late Minnie J. Riddle and Weiters A. Cleland of Ridgeland. She was a 1957 graduate of Ridgeland High School, a lifetime resident of Ridgeland and a member of Coosawhatchie Baptist Church.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Allison Pace (James) of Ridgeland; stepson, Dr. Keith Phillippi of Tifton, GA; granddaughter, Olivia Pace of Ridgeland; sisters, Barbara Mahoney, Charlene Cooler, Linda Lorick (David), and Ouida Dell; three step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Phillippi; three brothers, Stacy Lee, Harold, and Frankie Cleland; sisters, Shirley Jordan and Pearnese Gatch; and her beloved dog, Hank.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Karen to the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 479 Ridgeland, SC 29936 or Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 10168 Grays Hwy, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
