Karen Elaine Smith, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the age of 75.
Karen was born on February 4, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of the late Billy Truet Hargrove and Imogene Gail (Johnson) Hargrove. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Ray Smith, on August 1, 1970.
In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded by her sister, Vivian McCaughan.
Karen was a beloved member of the Rolla community, known for her warmth, dedication, and love of life. She was the proud owner and operator of Rolla Psychological Associates, off of Forum Drive, where she spent her career caring for others with compassion and professionalism. Outside of work, Karen cherished the simple joys of life, reading a good book, watching her favorite movies, and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved trips to the beach in Florida, where she found peace and happiness by the ocean. Karen's kindness, strength, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Karen will be sadly missed by her surviving family which includes: her husband, Dick Smith of Rolla, MO; daughter, Amy Maus and husband Jim of Waterloo, IL; sister, Teresa Blanchard and husband Jerry of Marietta, GA; and one grandchild, Grace Maus.
A funeral service for Karen E. Smith will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will take place at Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
