Robert "Bob" Stoltz, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 31, 1944 to William B. and Leah (Gray) Stoltz, Bob was the second twin to be welcomed into the world. He lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, his country, and his community.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Suzanne N. Stoltz, for 57 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose, raising three children who were his greatest pride and joy: Robert J. Stoltz and his wife Tricia, Deborah S. Morris and her husband Dr. Ryan C. Morris, and Dr. Christen J. Davis and her husband Cornelious.
Bob's legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Maxton, Alynna, Avanna, and Alivia Stoltz; Liam and Colin Morris; and William Ashton, Kadyn, and Brinley Davis. Known to them affectionately as "Papa," he cherished every moment spent cheering them on and celebrating life's milestones.
He is preceded in death by his parents William B. Stoltz and Leah O. Stoltz, his sister Joy D. Grose, and his nephew William T. Stoltz. He leaves behind his twin brother William A. Stoltz (Kathy), and his nephews Brian Stoltz (Marissa), Danny Grose (Carla), Todd Grose (Laura), Scott Schultz (Kim), Stephen Schultz; and his nieces Sherry Davis (Bruce); Sandy Hurt (Todd), and Stephanie Schultz.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States military over a decade, achieving the rank of Major. From 1967 to 1969, Bob was a company commander at Fort Hood, Texas. His time in service instilled in him a lifelong sense of discipline, leadership, and commitment to others. These qualities shaped every chapter of his life.
Following his military service, he dedicated many years to Rolla Public Schools, where he served as a history teacher, coach, and Athletic Director. During his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing and coaching the district's first girls' athletic programs, creating lasting opportunities for generations of female student-athletes. He started the varsity boys wrestling team in 1969. His leadership, fairness, and passion for sports left a lasting mark on the Rolla community.
After a meaningful career in education, Bob continued his professional journey by expanding his family's business in real estate and appraisals.
Bob will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, and friend. His life was defined by service, laughter, the ultimate encourager, and love for others, a legacy that will live on through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service for Robert B. Stoltz will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at the First Assembly of God in Rolla. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27 at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
