Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend
Wayne, NJ - Karen Stack, a loving and supportive wife, mother and a pillar of strength for her family and friends, passed away on December 6, 2023. She was 62 years old.
Born on December 14, 1960, in Belleville, NJ, Karen was the daughter of William and Patricia Cavanaugh. She grew up in a warm and caring household alongside her brother William Jr. and twin sister Kathy. Karen's childhood was filled with love and laughter, laying the foundation for her compassionate nature.
Karen had a deep passion for family and dedicated her life to those she held dear. She married the love of her life, Gary Stack, and together they built a beautiful life centered around love and support. Their union blessed them with their son Gary William Stack, who brought immeasurable joy into their lives.
A devoted sister to Kathy Cavanaugh and a cherished sister-in-law to Kevin Killmurray, Karen always prioritized nurturing strong familial bonds. Her unwavering love and kindness were felt by everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life. Karen had a special place in her heart for her nieces whom she adored as if they were her own children.
Karen's proudest accomplishment was serving as the Co-President of the Special Parents Association, where she was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award. Through this meaningful role, she provided invaluable support to families facing challenges and ensured that every child received the care they deserved. Karen's dedication to advocating for children with special needs touched many lives throughout the Wayne community.
Karen found solace in hobbies that brought joy into her life. An avid fan of the NY Giants football team, she passionately cheered them on during each game. She also loved watching Jeopardy. Karen was even fortunate enough to witness the show live, creating cherished memories that she held dear. Additionally, she found comfort in connecting with loved ones through social media, especially Facebook.
Karen's radiant personality was impossible to ignore. She embodied love, kindness, and empathy in everything she did. Her warm and welcoming nature ensured that those around her always felt valued and supported.
Visitation services will be held on December 11, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services located at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. Friends and family can come together during this time to celebrate Karen's life and offer their condolences.
Karen Stack is survived by her loving husband Gary Stack, devoted son Gary William Stack, caring sister Kathy Cavanaugh, and supportive brother-in-law Kevin Killmurray. Although her physical presence will be greatly missed, Karen's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Autism Science Foundation. This act of kindness would honor Karen's commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Karen Stack touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her journey here on Earth. Her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will continue to inspire future generations. May her soul rest in eternal peace as we keep her memory alive in our hearts forever.
