Karen Marie Tkaczyk, age 68, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 27, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Eugene and Clara (Epker) Prebe. Karen graduated from St. Vincent de Paul Grade School and Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. A highly respected harness horse trainer, known throughout Ohio, Michigan and Indiana, she had a stable at Raceway Park in Toledo for 30 years, and was even voted Horse Trainer of the Year. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. She had a loud, boisterous personality that people respected. A wonderful Polish cook, she used her skills preparing meals for others at Regina Coeli Catholic Church where she was a longtime parishioner. She enjoyed bowling in the women's bowling league and was a member of the 1991 State Champion team.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Walter Tkaczyk (married September 24, 1977 at St. Vincent De Paul Church); children, Stephen (Becca), Kristina (Tim), and Tom (Melissa); grandchildren, Stephen (Aubrey), Brendon, Dylan, Jacob, Caleb, Frankie, Kaitlyn, Mason, and Hayes; great-grandchildren, Liam, Kinsley, and Jonathan; brother, Denny; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Mike and Tom.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Jim Dudley presiding.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Red Cross. Condolences can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
