Karen Yvonne Walker was born on September 5, 1958 to the late Judson Carter and Dorothy Adams in Princeton, NJ. She sadly left our world on February 25, 2025 at her home, after a life richly lived in service and kindness. She grew up in Trenton, NJ where she graduated from Trenton Central High School's illustrious class of 1976. Soon after, she enlisted in the Women's Army Corps and was stationed in San Antonio, TX. After being honorably discharged, she began working at Princeton Hospital in 1981 and retired after 42 years in 2023, while working part-time for Dr. Ahmad's office for about twenty years.
Known for her kindness, leadership qualities, and genuine belief in others, Karen was a beacon of light and hope amongst her friends and family. Karen was a member of numerous organizations over the years including the Parent-Teacher Assoc. at Granville Charter School, Million Mom March, Women Who Mean Business, Trenton Central High School Marching Band Parents' Association, Mary's Place, Colontown, and was a long time member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church just to name a few.
Karen had a way of touching lives through acts of kindness whether it was a text, phone call, sending money when needed, sending relatable posts on social media, sending job prospects, anything to show you she was thinking of you. Karen was a mother-figure to many of her daughters' friends.
Karen is predeceased by her father, Judson Carter, uncles Jeffrey Carter, Clifford Carter, Harold Robinson Jr., step-father Gerald Adams, grandmother Cora Hart, cousin Jackie Hart, sister-in-law Debra McDonald and brother-in-law Rodney Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Wayne Walker, daughters Carla Langston (Denzel), Whitney Jenkins (Myles), mother Dorothy Adams, step-mother Lesley Carter, sisters Wendy Larmonie, Joanne Hendricks, step-sister Nicole Simpson(Broderick), step-brothers Bernard Borges, Marques Borges, aunts Marion Jackson, Midge Burnett Robinson, cousin Mark Jackson, niece Jasmine Hendricks, nephew Paul Larmonie, step-children Dwayne Walker(Stephanie), Alan Wright(Danielle), Maurice Walker, Jasmine Wright, grandchildren Denzel N. Langston, Jr. (D.J.), Arianna Walker (Ari), Elena Walker (Eli), Donovan Walker (Donnie), Kassydi Stallings (Kassie), sister-in-law Janet White, brothers-in-law Robert Walker and Jerome Walker, special cousin-in-law Gail Porter, four special friends Patricia Atkins, Stella Johnson, Annette Lartigue, Audrey Walker, and a host of young adults she claimed as her own, cousins, friends and coworkers.
