AHOSKIE, NC - Karl Edward Gupton, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Born on January 20, 1963, in Hopewell, Virginia, Karl lived a life rich with love, dedication, and passion, reaching the age of 62 years.
A master mechanic by trade, Karl worked diligently for many years at Eddie Harrell's Muffler and Tire Shop, where his expertise and commitment were evident in every task he undertook. His devotion extended beyond his work as he cared deeply for his family, ensuring their happiness and well-being. He was also a man of rich interests and talents; he loved music and was the talented drummer for the band Gravitation and several other bands. His enthusiasm for life was further displayed in his hobbies, which included collecting guns and spending cherished moments hunting and fishing.

He is also survived by his mother, Vernell Tipton Wright of Chester, Virginia, and his mother- and father-in-law, Wayne and Sue Vinson of Ahoskie. Among other surviving family are his cousins, Adam Shane Tipton of Virginia, and Troy Tipton and wife Dana of Carson, Virginia; his brother-in-law, John Long and wife Lori Harders of Murfreesboro; sister-in-law, Nada Piskulic and partner Jay of the United Kingdom.
