Katherine E. "Kitty" Avery

Katherine E. "Kitty" Avery, age 65 of Painted Post, NY passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation, Horseheads. Born on June 7, 1957 in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Doan) Avery.
Kitty will be remembered for her love of horses. Every week she would visit her horse and go for rides - always bringing her horse treats. She enjoyed the many day programs offered through Pathways. Kitty also enjoyed shopping and enjoying a slice of pumpkin pie.
Kitty is survived by a brother, Milton Avery; cousin: Karen (Daniel Talada) Boynton-Talada of Chemung, NY; numerous other cousins; and many special friends at Pathways.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the loving and caring staff of Pathways who cared for her for so many years. All of which became her family.
In addition to her parents, Kitty was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Avery.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at Carpenter's Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kitty's name may be sent to an animal shelter of one's choice to support her love of all animals.
