On December 23, 2025, earth lost a radiant sunbeam, and heaven gained an angel. Katherine Ann Budrow, fondly known as Katie, left us to join her father, Jason Budrow, Aunt Stephanie Talbot, and Grandfather Brent Budrow in eternal life. Born on September 6, 1995, in
Ogden, Utah.
Katie had a heart that was as big as her smile, always radiating her innate generosity, supportive nature, and resilience. Her infectious laughter and humor brought joy to all who were blessed to know her.
From her early years in Layton, Ogden, and Clearfield, Katie was a beacon of love and kindness. Despite her physical pain from Neurofibromatosis, she was the epitome of resilience, always making time to engage in her favorite activities. She cherished crafting, drawing, playing UNO, and especially, taking on the role of the ever-enthusiastic, fun-loving aunt, snapping her sister on Snapchat every day, and playing with her beloved niece Rosie and nephew Jason.
Katie's love for her family and friends was only rivaled by her love for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served her faith with unwavering commitment, completing a service mission and taking on the role of Nursery Leader. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, and it was beautifully reflected in her actions. As stated in the Book of Mormon, "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass," Katie's small acts of love brought great joy and warmth to those around her.
Katie is survived by her loving mother, Elsie Budrow; her supporting and caring siblings, sister, Chelsie (Jacob) Potter; brother, Tyler (Jennifer) Budrow; and her adoring grandparents; Wayne (Carla) Newman and Claude (Cathy) Payne.
She will be remembered not just for her funny and resilient spirit, but also for her unwavering dedication to serving others and her love for her family, friends, and faith.
Thank you to Rocky Mountain Hospice and the U of U Neuroscience Department for caring for Katie.
