Katherine E. Carona

Katherine E. Carona, age 69, passed away the evening of Saturday, April 1, 2023 with all her family present at her side. She was born June 29, 1953 in Canton to Leo and Mary (Martin) Scharver.
Kathy graduated from North Canton Hoover High School, class of 1971. She entered and graduated from Aultman School of Radiology. In 1973 she began her career at Timken Mercy Hospital as an X-Ray Technologist, eventually becoming Assistant Director of Special Procedures, then as the Program Director of the School of Radiology until her retirement. Later, she began working part-time at Mercy stat care, when she could, while raising her children.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Nick Carona; son, Matthew (Ashley) Carona; daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Macha, and Theresa (Chris) Aurand; grandchildren, Christiana and Nicholas Carona, Kaden Macha, and soon to be born Baby Aurand; and sister, Margaret Beal.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Mary Scharver; and father and mother-in-law, Nicholas Sr. and Mary Carona.
Katherine loved being a mother and adored her family. She was very proud of her children and their accomplishments, attending all their events from Elementary School through College graduations.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm at Paquelet Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
