Katherine Carroll

Katherine Carroll, 92, of Jackson Township passed away at Newton Medical Center, Newton on September 11, 2025. She was born in North Bergen and a resident of Hampton Township for 11 years before moving to Freehold in 1983 where she resided for 34 years. She moved to Jackson Township in 2017.

Family was the most important part of Katherine's life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was very active in parish community at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold where she volunteered for the church thrift shop for many years, as well as serving in the outreach ministry providing meals for community. She participated in the 8 am coffee hour program, and various church events. In addition to church activities, she spent many hours on the sidelines as the adoring grandmother at all the various athletic events, and was someone who radiated kindness to everyone she met.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Her husband, William F. Carroll, died in 2020.

Surviving are her daughters, Alice Hoffman and husband James, and Linda Spehalski and husband Ronald; grandchildren, Kathryn Hoffman, Patricia Hoffman, Karen Kenney (husband William) and Michael Spehalski; and a great granddaughter, Hailey Rose Kenney.

A viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 9 to 10:30 am. The Burial Office and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 33 Throckmorton Street, Freehold on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
