Katherine McCormick Obituary
She was an accomplished fencer, even meeting her husband, Dan McCormick, through fencing. Their son, Jack, inherited that love of fencing, continuing the tradition and legacy of the sport within their family. While living in Colorado, she was a glassblower for a company who crafted neon signs. After relocating to Hudson, Kate founded Orbis Maps, a business devoted to collecting and selling antique maps. She loved her home in Hudson. She especially cherished the quiet beauty of the woods surrounding her home and found deep joy in nature.
Kate is survived by her beloved husband, Dan; loving son Jack (Anna) McCormick; cherished grandchildren Fiona and Theodore; and dear sisters Ann Davy Harwi, Mary Boyden Hinely, and Sarah McRea Boyden-Smith.
Friends will be received for a memorial gathering 5-7 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Busch-Romito Funeral Home, 19 E. Main St. (on the square), Hudson, OH. www.buschcares.com
