Kathleen Blackham (née Piros), 78, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Richard E. Jacobs Health Center in Avon after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 30, 1947, in Lorain, OH, and had made Vermilion her home for the past 59 years.
Kathleen was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. She worked as a medical receptionist and was also a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family.
A passionate fan of Cleveland and Ohio sports teams, Kathleen never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorites. She enjoyed following politics, online shopping, and traveling-especially on cruises and trips to Myrtle Beach. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and adored her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Joseph Blackham; her children, Joseph Blackham, Jennifer Dean, and Kevin Blackham; her beloved grandchildren, Colton and Chase Blackham, Michael, Emma, and Matthew Dean, and Dylan, Brett, Bryce, and Aubrey Blackham; her sister, Pricilla Piros; her brother, David Piros; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan A. Blackham, and her parents, Joseph and Yolanda (née Nagy) Piros.
Private family services will be held. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to University Hospitals Transplant Services.
