James Russell, 70, of Vermilion, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Stein Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Born March 5, 1955, in Cleveland, OH, James was a lifelong resident of Vermilion. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a lineman for 31 years before his retirement.
James had a passion for collecting and working on motorcycles, cars, jet skis, and boats. He loved his cats dearly and was known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
He is survived by his siblings, Tim (Karen) Russell, Dan Russell, Sharon Brucker, and Judy Herbert; his favorite nephews, Joe and Drew Russell, along with other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Russell; mother, Alice (Martin) Haettich; sisters, Barbara McGuirk, Patricia Johnson, and Maureen Kay Russell.
Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Safe Harbor Animal Rescue Inc, 15901 Darrow Rd. Vermilion, OH 44089.
