Kathleen S. Buntin-Diaz, 60, of North Miami Beach, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, surrounded by her family at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, FL. She was born November 24, 1964, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Jack and Alys (Jones) Buntin.
Kathy graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1983 and Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in 1987. She later graduated with an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology.
After graduating from Purdue, she worked for Harris Corporation in Florida for 15 years.
She was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Miami Shores, FL.
Kathy was a devoted mother who regularly volunteered for her children's school activities and loved teaching them to play sports. She enjoyed boating and traveling, and always looked forward to visiting her family in Indiana every year. As an avid Purdue fan, she closely followed their basketball and football teams.
Kathy married Ricardo Diaz in 2000 and they recently divorced.
Surviving are her children Maximo Diaz and Isabel Diaz, both of Miami, FL, siblings Eric Buntin of Lafayette and Jennifer Buntin-Riley (Patrick) of West Lafayette, along with 5 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with Rosary at 1:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 16, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette, Indiana.
