Kathleen Ann Dugan, affectionately known as Kathy, was a beacon of faith and love to all who were blessed to know her. Born on July 14, 1954, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Richard and Grace (Evelyn) Stickley. Kathy's journey on this earth was a testament to her unwavering faith and her dedication to spreading kindness and compassion.
Kathy was a cherished resident of Macomb Township, Michigan, since 2021, having previously enriched the lives of those in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Her earthly journey concluded on February 10, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan, at the age of 69, surrounded by the prayers and love of her family.
A proud graduate of Eisenhower High School in 1973, Kathy pursued her career by attending cosmetology school. She was a devoted cosmetologist at JCPenney at Lakeside Mall, where her skill and warmth left a lasting impression on all she served.
For 22 years, Kathy was a devout member of Grace Apostolic Church in Clawson, Michigan. Her faith was not just a part of her life; it was her foundation, guiding her actions and her interactions with others. Kathy's belief in God's grace and her commitment to her church community were sources of strength and inspiration to many.
Kathy's legacy of love and faith continues through her beloved children, Melissa Dugan and Heather (Sam) Askar, and her treasured grandchildren, Evie and Samara. She was a sister, a friend, and a guiding light to Joanne (Richard) Hurick, Patricia (Dana) Bradley, Mary (Richard) Hoover, Dianne (Wayne) Herring, and Richard (Patricia) Stickley. Kathy rejoins in Heaven her dearly missed husband, Dr. Mark Jeffrey Dugan, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, united in eternal love since their wedding on February 3, 1979, at Calvary Apostolic Church in Utica. She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Thomas (Carol) Lucha and Frank (Geneva) Lucha.
Visitation for Kathy will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, February 15, at Grace Apostolic Church, 700 E. Elmwood in Clawson, MI 48017, culminating in a celebration of her faith and love at 7 PM. Her funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 16, at 11 AM at Grace Apostolic Church in Clawson, where we will honor her journey of faith, love, and grace.
Kathy's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith in God. As we gather to remember her, let us celebrate the ways she touched our lives and emulate her example of love, kindness, and faithfulness. Her spirit, guided by her deep faith, will forever remain a guiding light for all who knew her. In Kathy's memory, let us hold fast to the promise of salvation and eternal life.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 5:8
